Road Racing Track Courses

SuperSafety Track Courses

We are an SCCA full competition roadracing license issuing school. We compare what you are doing with proper technique, and make the changes bit by bit. Once a good foundation is built, we turn up the intensity and advance towards the limits of the vehicle. Whether it is a short course or multi-day course leading to a competition license, this step-by-step progression toward correct techniques instills confidence and consistency in driver skills to avoid accidents - the objective of SuperSafety.

Road Racing Courses

The Road Racing Track Course addresses the competition part of the puzzle: designed for those people that want to not only be fast and safe, but to see how they compare with the best in a racing environment! In addition to the Super Safety subjects, we cover race day procedures, starts, flags, passing protocols, consistent lap times, how to win races, and of course, Race Craft. We will also work with you on vehicle development so that you and your vehicle are more in tune with each other. Specific curriculum depends on the progress of the student.

The Sequence

All courses are designed to teach what I call "The Sequence". It is what the top drivers in the nation are doing. What is the perfect line; proper hand positions; correct eye targeting; entry speed; and carrying maximum speed through the corner and into the exit. The four types of braking, and what each one involves is taught. The types and causes of slides and how to recover from each is taught. Our driver awareness plan lets you know, how to find the limit of the vehicle without going beyond and crashing. Emergency procedures that can minimize damage and injury are emphasized. *Day 1: Classroom subjects include: track entry and exit protocols, proper line, correct steering posture, hand position, eye targeting, acceleration, and proper corner entry and exit speeds; diagram of the perfect corner; the four types of braking and what each one involves; and the types and causes of slides and what to do for each. A driver awareness plan is emphasized that lets you know, how to explore the limit of the vehicle without going beyond and crashing. Emergency procedures that can minimize damage and injury are taught. Track time is provided to work on each skill and putting them together in the proper order.

*Day 2: A comprehensive review day 1 fundamentals is provided with practice sessions to get each skill to a higher level of confidence and comfort.

*Day 3: A comprehensive review of Days 1 & 2 is provided. Lap times are introduced as a reference to where you are in the instructional process and a determination of how far you are from the physical limits.

Six Day Course

An extended step-by-step, personalized instruction which builds confidence and skills with the objective of achieving a National Competition License.

*Days 1 - 3: See description for the 3-day course.

*Days 4 - 6: With a good foundation, we work on putting a polish on "The Sequence." Working step by step toward getting the limits of the driver equal to the limits of the vehicle and the ability to access fast consistent lap times at will. You will work on the many different ways to pass competitors, and the best way to win races. In order to be Fast, you must have the Correct Line, Intensity, and proper feel for the vehicle. In order to win races, you must be Fast, Consistent, have good Race Craft, and have the right vehicle in class.

All of our courses are designed with the individual in mind. If you are proficient at a specific skill, we can move through that quickly, if you need special attention at certain skills, we can spend more time on that skill. We try to fine tune the class to what works best for you.

Course Certificate

At the completion of the course, a certificate is issued for submission to SCCA, NASA, or RMVR to obtain your Road Racing License.
